An innovation is a new way of doing something. It may refer to incremental and emergent, radical and revolutionary changes in thinking, products or processes. Innovation is an important topic as well in the study of art and design.
The word "innovation" is often synonymous with the output of the process. However, experts tend to focus on the process itself, from the origination of an idea to its transformation into something useful, to its implementation;
Some of the most respected artists in history were innovators. By developing new techniques and new styles, they were able to enhance the field of art by making expression easier, clearer and more recognizable. Some of the well-known artists of the 19th century (ie. ) improved the way art was created and made lasting names for themselves.
3i Art Center curriculum is based on both the traditional and modern approach to art by teaching technique and expression on the one hand and giving the freedom to experiment with mixed media on the other hand. The Center does not claim to push art to a new future but it reveals the talent and creativity in children’s art. Children are given the freedom to create and find a personal way of expressing themselves. Innovation is encouraged but not limited to a single process of art. 3i Art Center claims that good ‘art’ is not that which is the most innovative. Therefore, the Center pursues diverse thinking in the process of creation in order to distinguish itself from other art school. The combination and mix of a modern approach to the center’s strengths and courage to introduce oil studies for children from the age of 3 proves evidence of innovation in many ways.
Each work of art produced by children at 3i Art Center studios is unique and innovative in itself. It is neither copied and repeated nor duplicated and imitated. It carries the very personal character of the child and reflects his/her stage of development.
